Alaska Regional HospitalPre-Operative Class

Location: Orthopedic Activity room, 6th floor, main hospital building
Patients who are scheduled to have total joint surgery are encouraged to attend one Pre-Operative Class to prepare for the process. The hospital team will explain what to expect, pain medications and IV's, physical and occupational therapy, and discharge planning. It is strongly advised that participants bring along the family member/friend who will be assisting the patient after surgery. Scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. Free Children's Immunization Clinics

The 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Infants and individuals through 18 years of age are welcome. Free adult tetanus shots are also available. Call 264-1105 for more information.
Look Good...Feel Better

Location: ARH Cancer Care Center, Medical Office Building C, Suite 414
Free, non-medical program for women cancer patients that teaches beauty techniques to help combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. All classes take place on Fridays. Please contact the Cancer Center at 264-1431 to RSVP. Class dates in 2010 are: January 15, March 19, May 21, July 16, September 17, November 19.

Women's Health Fair

The Women's Health Fair will feature hospital department tours, interactive booths and displays, seminars on women's health issues, and more! Men's Health Fair

For the 6th annual Men's Health Fair, Alaska Regional will offer free blood tests, as well as blood pressures and exercise/food demonstrations.
